Last Saturday, River Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Ashton-Franklin Center, taking the game 60-50.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Scales Mound ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Polo out 64-61. Given Scales Mound's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Polo is ranked 426th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Scales Mound to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Hereau, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Distler, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 1 assist.
River Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Scales Mound, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.
River Ridge was dealt a bruising 76-49 loss at the hands of Scales Mound in their previous meeting back in November of 2023.
