The Legend Titans waltzed into Monday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 53-43 victory over Doherty. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Legend also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Legend got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Whitehead out in front who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was Whitehead's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kale Sparks, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddox Dee-Mortensen, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Mack, who scored 9 points along with 4 steals.
Legend's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Doherty, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Legend will be playing in front of their home fans against Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Lutheran is ranked 57th, while Legend is ranked 42nd). As for Doherty, they will head out on the road to face off against Castle View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Castle View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
