The Lawton Wolverines''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-6 win over Capitol Hill on the road. The victory was just what Lawton needed coming off of a 63-32 loss in their prior contest.
Lawton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Pene Vaisagite out in front who threw for 101 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Brayden Burrell also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Lawton's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Capitol Hill, their loss was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-11.
Lawton will head out on the road to face off against Charles Page at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charles Page presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lawton in Oklahoma (Charles Page is ranked 33rd, while Lawton is ranked 172nd). Capitol Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
