Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I recap Oct. 16, 2012
Derby took down Southeast 55-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,975 from 5,178. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 23-20 victory over the Mustangs last week.
Haysville Campus's dynamic duo of J.T. Harlamon and Gabe Chavez proved tough for Northwest to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Harlamon threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns and Chavez had 83 yards receiving. Jr. Guerrero helped Haysville Campus' passing attack out by catching five balls for 37 yards.
Wil Smith was the most productive running back in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I this week. He ran for 153 yards on 21 carries as Hutchinson fell to the Grizzlies. Colby Turner also contributed to the rushing game with 90 yards on the ground.
Nate Chrisman made the biggest impact on defense this week as Haysville Campus fell to Northwest. The 6-foot-0 junior grabbed one interception.
6-foot-0 quarterback John Becker of Mike Schartz's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 594. He has also thrown one touchdown. On the ground, South's Cody Busby has rushed for 818 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zach Nachbar. The South star has 15 catches for 322 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when South takes on the Colts. At the moment, the Titans are in first, while Haysville Campus is in seventh.
The Panthers led Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on the Golden Buffalo.
