Basketball Recap: Eddie Harmon Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Fountain Valley

Pikes Peak Christian won the last time they faced Fountain Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pikes Peak Christian Eagles walked away with a 64-57 win over the Fountain Valley Danes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Pikes Peak Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eddie Harmon led the charge by dropping a double-double on 33 points and 19 boards. Harmon has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 23 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Crocfer, who went 9 for 14 en route to 22 points and three steals.

Pikes Peak Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Several Danes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tenzin Tinley, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Tinley a new career-high. Nick Prantl was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Pikes Peak Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Fountain Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Pikes Peak Christian will be playing at home against Kiowa at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pikes Peak Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Fountain Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Lotus School For Excellence at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
