The Lathrop Malemutes had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past North Pole 65-38 at home. Lathrop's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Lathrop to victory were Luke Skinner and Deshon Hall. Skinner scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five steals, while Hall scored 20 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Hall scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Atticus Foley, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Lathrop's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for North Pole, they bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Lathrop will finish 2023 at home by hosting Ben Eielson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Pole will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hutchison at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
