Even though The Independence Falcons scored an imposing 31 points on Thursday, the Mission Oak Hawks still came out on top. Mission Oak took their game against Independence 38-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mission Oak.
Mission Oak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Gonzalez, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Gonzalez's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Kenny Jackson, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.
Mission Oak now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Independence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Mission Oak will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mt. Whitney at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Whitney will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
