The West Panthers stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Olympus with a sharp 65-41 win. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point West had established a 23 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fina Tuha, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Tuha is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Falatea, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Olympus lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joss Baker. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 36.6% of Olympus' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lily Smith, who scored nine points.
The victory (which was West's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Olympus, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Coincidentally, West and the Titans will both be playing the Bengals the next time they take the court. West will head out to face the Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Titans will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
