Baseball Recap: Springboro Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

While Springboro put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Centerville. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Elks. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Jacob Rhinehart, who gave up just five hits to keep Centerville off the board. Rhinehart has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Vince Fortkamp was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Colten Muhlenkamp, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Springboro has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Springboro will venture away from home to square off against Northmont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centerville will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' contest: after the Panthers face off against the Thunderbolts, they'll take on Centerville again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
