Inglewood moved up to 330 from 393 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Ocean. A 34-23 win over Torrance helped the Sentinels improve their standing.
Culver City's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Xan Cuevas threw for 267 and one touchdown and Julius Wilson had 136 yards receiving. On the ground Cuevas chipped in 15 yards. Justin Montgomery helped Culver City's passing attack out by catching six balls for 69 yards.
The Centaurs' Cuevas and Wilson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cuevas has thrown for 994 yards this season, while Wilson, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 23 catches for 370 yards. Morningside's Dana Dotson leads the league in rushing yards with 520.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Santa Monica takes on the Monarchs. As it stands, the Vikings are in fourth, while Morningside is in first.
Inglewood made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,990 from 4,739. The improvement was the result of 34-23 victory over the Tartars last week.
