Even though the Rehobeth Rebels scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, the Carroll Eagles still came out on top. Carroll strolled past Rehobeth with points to spare, taking the game 70-56. Given Carroll's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Rehobeth is ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carroll was led to victory by Devon Pruitt and Michael Culver. Pruitt scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Culver scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Culver has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lakeith Person, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Rehobeth, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll will challenge Cottonwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rehobeth, they will head out on the road to take on Poplar Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
