The Springfield Tigers stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 49-23 margin over McDonald. Given Springfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 667th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Springfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jameka Brungard out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Brungard is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Vecchione, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for McDonald, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Springfield will play host again and welcome the Quakers, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McDonald, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bluejays at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
