Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Stephens

Stephens extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Kason Powell. The Stephens Roadrunners came out on top against the Trinity Christian Warriors by a score of 72-61 on Tuesday thanks in part to Powell, who went 12 for 26 on his way to 31 points. His evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Stephens is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stephens will host Arkansas Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Christian Ministries Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Trinity Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Christian Ministries Academy likes a good challenge.
