Washington Academy has gone 7-1 against Mount View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Raiders will take on the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. Washington Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.3 runs per game this season.
Washington Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Calais with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Ben Hennessey's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Washington Academy let Trevor Shimabukuro and Sam Davidson run wild. Shimabukuro got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Davidson earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Davidson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Gardner, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Mount View waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Saints.
Cole Gerrish spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaden Bradeen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Dominic Nash also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Mount View pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Washington Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Washington Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mount View struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Washington Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Mount View in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
