The McConnellsburg Spartans came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Forbes Road at home to the tune of 67-34. McConnellsburg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.
McConnellsburg found their leader in underclassman Hoyt Glenn, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Glenn has scored all season. Drew Mellott was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven steals.
McConnellsburg is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Forbes Road, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McConnellsburg will take on Williamsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Forbes Road, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southern Huntingdon County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
