Bellmont gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against the South Adams Starfires as they made off with an 8-2 win. This was payback for the Braves, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Layne LeMaster made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. LeMaster was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Gavin Krull was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mason Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
