Baseball Game Preview: Kenton Ridge Cougars vs. London Red Raiders

For the second straight game, Kenton Ridge will face off against London. The Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Red Raiders at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Kenton Ridge will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

If Kenton Ridge beats London with seven runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Cougars came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 7-4 on Monday.

Jake Beard made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Zach Deel was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Cooper Doogs also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Kenton Ridge's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for London, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-5 record.
