Last Monday, Knowledge Academies ended up a good deal behind Tennessee Heat and lost 67-53. Knowledge Academies' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sylvainus Cole Iv, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 22 points, and Travis Campbell, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. Cole Iv's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Amos, who had five points.
Meanwhile, Lighthouse Christian got the win against Highland Rim Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 82-56. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.
Lighthouse Christian's win came from a few key players Knowledge Academies will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lucas Haymer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Haymer is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Kolby Matthews was another key player, going 8 of 14 on his way to 18 points.
Lighthouse Christian pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23 points. As for Knowledge Academies, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Knowledge Academies and Lighthouse Christian are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Knowledge Academies hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55 points per game. However, it's not like Lighthouse Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 65.3 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Knowledge Academies came out on top in a nail-biter against Lighthouse Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, sneaking past 59-57. Will Knowledge Academies repeat their success, or does Lighthouse Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
