The Coral Glades Jaguars had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Taravella by a score of 61-49 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Coral Glades, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Coral Glades was led to victory by Tahir Bond and Anthony Valdes. Bond scored nine points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, while Valdes scored 19 points. Bond is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Gavin Reed was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Despite the loss, Taravella still got an impressive performance from James Ganley, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Ganley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Demoya, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Coral Glades' victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Taravella, they bumped their record down to 11-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Coral Glades won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chaminade-Madonna at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Chaminade-Madonna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 348th, while Coral Glades is ranked 126th). Taravella on the road again on Saturday and play against Palmetto at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Palmetto has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 300 points over their last four matches.
