The Purcell Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Walters Blue Devils at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Purcell's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
If Purcell beats Walters with 12 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Purcell was the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over Chandler on Monday. Considering the Dragons have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Parker Page was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Purcell got a massive performance out of Casey Billingsley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Billingsley a new career-high. Kash Knowles was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Purcell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, while it was Walters who put the first points on the board on Tuesday, it was Canute who put up more. Walters took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canute.
JOHN JONES was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was GAGE SANSOME, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Purcell is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. Walters' defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Walters' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Purcell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. It's a different story for Walters, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Purcell's hitters?
