Ridgecroft is 8-2 against Northeast Academy since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Ridgecroft Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Northeast Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Ridgecroft focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
Ridgecroft pushed their score all the way to 66, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-66 to Lawrence Academy.
Despite the defeat, Ridgecroft had strong showings from Antron Gray, who scored 23 points along with five assists, and Sawyer Chamblee, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Bill Vaughan was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Northeast Academy entered their tilt with Oakwood with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Northeast Academy secured a 34-29 W over Oakwood on Monday.
Northeast Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jake Parks, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five assists. Parks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Judson Smith, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Ridgecroft's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Northeast Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's matchup: Ridgecroft have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 47.1% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Northeast Academy, though, as they've only made 26.4% of their threes per game this season. Given Ridgecroft's sizeable advantage in that area, Northeast Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Ridgecroft against Northeast Academy when the teams last played two weeks ago as the squad secured a 49-14 win. With Ridgecroft ahead 47-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
