Sonoran Science Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Arrowhead Christian Academy on the road and fell 64-10. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sonoran Science Academy has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arrowhead Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cristian DeLaCruz, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. DeLaCruz hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Shaw, who scored ten points along with nine steals and five rebounds.
Sonoran Science Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Arrowhead Christian Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Sonoran Science Academy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Imagine Prep Coolidge at 5:30 p.m. As for Arrowhead Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge BASIS - Prescott at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. BASIS - Prescott will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Arrowhead Christian Academy is ranked 85th).
