Landstown hasn't had much luck against First Colonial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Landstown is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Norview a 16-0 shutout on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Hailey Akers and Ashlyn Tolbert made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Akers pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Tolbert struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. At the plate, Akers went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Tolbert went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adalyn Stumler, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Perez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Landstown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, First Colonial waltzed into their match two weeks ago with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Stallions as they made off with a 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
First Colonial also got a great performance from Chloe Outland as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Outland has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maura Haesler was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Ashlynn Leroy was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
First Colonial's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Landstown, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.
Landstown might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from First Colonial in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
