The Canyon Cougars will face off against the Lake Travis Cavaliers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 952nd, while Lake Travis is ranked second).
Canyon pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hutto. Canyon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Lake Travis put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Reagan 54-51.
Lake Travis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Greer out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Greer's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Adrian Mathis was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Dripping Springs' victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Canyon's loss dropped theirs to 1-5.
