Jezreelite Deese and Walker Fann provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Richmond. The connection went for 65 yards, the longest such play in 4A Southeastern this season.
The Raiders extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lumberton, 30-17. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
The Pirates' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Deese threw for 82 and one touchdown and Fann had 65 yards receiving. On the ground Daniel Robinson chipped in 88 yards. Frankie Dickerson helped Lumberton's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
Scotland's Jaylend Ratliffe and Tra'Shawn Gregory have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ratliffe has thrown for 914 yards this season, while Gregory, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 23 catches for 324 yards. Lumberton's Robinson leads the league in rushing yards with 1071.
Hoke County's Detrez Newsome is a mere 82 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 77 carries Newsome has accumulated 918 yard this year.
A big matchup in 4A Southeastern this week will be when Paul Hoggard's team takes on Pinecrest. At the moment, the Raiders are in first, while the Patriots are in fourth.
The Fighting Scots took down the Bucks 34-19 last week, the largest margin of any game.
