The Brooklyn Hurricanes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They fell to Fairview 61-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Brooklyn lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashlyn Dyson. Despite the final result, she scored 35 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Dyson scored a full 63.6% of Brooklyn's points, the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amerie Williams, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Brooklyn were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Brooklyn bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Fairview, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brooklyn will face off against Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairview is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Lutheran West at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
