Gilbert hasn't had much luck against Campo Verde recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Gilbert has given up an average of 28 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Gilbert is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Arizona College Prep on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Tigers lost 44-21 to the Knights. Despite 104 more yards than the Knights, the Tigers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

The losing side was boosted by Zane Grant, who threw for 372 yards and three TDs. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. 96 of Grant's passing yards were hauled in by Jaymin King.
Even if they lost, Gilbert's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: King, Christian Seeley, and Andrew Nichols, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Campo Verde waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Saints by a score of 30-17.
Gilbert better keep an eye on Drake Bradley. He was instrumental in Campo Verde's win, rushing for 112 yards and one touchdown. Bradley was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Campo Verde, racking up 12 points in total. All came from Mason Brogan: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points, and 3-for-3 again kicking extra points for an additional three.
Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Campo Verde, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Gilbert couldn't quite get it done against Campo Verde in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 as they fell 27-14. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
