Beddingfield is 0-2 against Princeton since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Beddingfield Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Princeton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Beddingfield's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Princeton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Friday, Beddingfield slipped by Eastern Wayne 21-20. 21 seems to be a good number for Beddingfield as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Beddingfield can attribute much of their success to Desmond Wooten, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
Beddingfield's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Keyshawn Richardson and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Princeton at home against Spring Creek on Friday as the squad secured a 56-8 win. With Princeton ahead 49-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Austin Lewallen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 272 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Marty Holland, who rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Beddingfield has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 209.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Princeton struggles in that department as they've been even better at 326.1 per game. It's looking like Thursday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Beddingfield took a serious blow against Princeton in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 47-14. Thankfully for Beddingfield, Christian Perris (who rushed for 222 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also caught a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
