Even though The Monte Vista Monarchs scored an imposing 41 points on Friday, the Hoover Cardinals still came out on top. Hoover took their game against Monte Vista 48-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hoover also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2015.
Hoover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Exavier Williams, who picked up 243 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Williams' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Kristian Noriega was another key contributor, throwing for 400 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 18.2 yards per attempt.
Hoover is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Monte Vista, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-8.
Hoover will take on Vincent Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monte Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
