Softball Recap: Kingsford Extends Winning Streak to Five

19 must be Kingsford's lucky number: they beat Marquette with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Flivvers beat the Sentinels by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Flivvers, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Kingsford's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marquette, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kingsford will face off against rival Menominee at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Marquette is set to square off against their familiar foe Escanaba at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
