Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2025 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Christan McIntyre of
Xaverian Brothers (Westwood) is the 2025 MaxPreps Massachusetts High School Football Player of the Year. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior wide receiver/defensive back led Hawks to 10-2 record and third straight Division I state title.

In a 41-35 win over St. John's Prep (Danvers) in the state championship game, McIntyre had six catches for 181 yards and two touchdowns. The Hawks became the first team in state history to pull off a three-peat in the Division I Super Bowl.
This was the second matchup between the two rivals in nine days as Xaverian Brothers handed the Eagles their first loss of the season on Thanksgiving. McIntyre had 177 yards receiving and a score in a 21-18 win.
In the semifinals, McIntyre helped avenge a regular-season loss leading the Hawks to a 36-22 win over Central (Springfield). He finished with eight receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns to go with an interception on defense.
McIntyre is uncommitted but weighing at least three FCS offers from Bucknell, Colgate and Holy Cross.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
