Florida and California have been the traditional places to find the top high school baseball players in the country, but this year the Midwest takes center stage with three of the top five players on the MaxPreps Top 100 High School Baseball Players list.
Multi-sport start Derek "Bubba" Starling of Gardner Edgerton in Gardner, Kansas heads the list while a pair of Oklahoma pitchers, Archie Bradley of Broken Arrow and Dylan Bundy of Owasso, come in at Nos. 3 and 4.
Florida and California are represented in the top five as Henry Owens from Edison of Huntington Beach is the nation's top-ranked pitcher at No. 2 overall and Francisco Lindor of Montverde Academy in Florida is the No. 1 shortstop and the No. 3 player overall.
