Silas Brawner produced another solid performance throwing for 262 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt. He is becoming a predictor of Pinewood Prep's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Lavoris Lucas was Brawner's top target, picking up 107 receiving yards and one score.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Pinewood Prep, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Tanner Smoak, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, John Paul II unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 35-21 to Hilton Head Christian Academy.
Pinewood Prep will have to contain Alan Wolf as he made an impact in John Paul II's last game. He rushed for 162 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Wolf's longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Pinewood Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
