After a string of four wins, the Friday Harbor Wolverines's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coupeville. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Friday Harbor of the 63-55 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Friday Harbor had strong showings from Alden Carli, who scored 15 points, and Pierce Kleine, who scored 15 points. Kleine hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Gustafson, who scored eight points.
Friday Harbor's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10. As for Coupeville, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing LaConner the next time they take the court. Coupeville will head out to face LaConner at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Friday Harbor will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
