After flying high against the Boyd Christian Broncos on Tuesday, the Sequatchie County Indians came back down to earth. Sequatchie County took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grundy County on Friday. The game was a 25-25 toss-up at halftime, but Sequatchie County was outscored by Grundy County in the second.
Sequatchie County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryker Terry, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Beckham Mckendrick, who scored 16 points.
Sequatchie County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Grundy County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequatchie County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Sequatchie County likes a good challenge. As for Grundy County, they will head out on the road to face off against Whitwell at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Whitwell is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
