Franklin is a perfect 10-0 against East Henderson since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will welcome the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Franklin is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
Franklin's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave last Friday, when they got past West Henderson's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Falcons. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Suzanna Cabe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn McConnell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Makayla Pendergrass, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, East Henderson can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Asheville 11-1. The Eagles' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
Kelsey Barnwell was incredible, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marybeth Blackwell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Franklin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for East Henderson, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
Franklin took their victory against East Henderson when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
