The Lafayette Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Woodford County Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Woodford County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Rylan Music made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Music was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Addison Combs was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Mckenzie Harney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Lafayette was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tates Creek only posted a batting average of .231.
Meanwhile, Woodford County suffered their closest loss since April 29, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Lexington Catholic by a score of 2-0. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Lafayette's record now sits at 17-7. As for Woodford County, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-11-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lafayette has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Woodford County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lafayette beat Woodford County 11-6 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
