Softball Recap: Hartford's Winning Streak Snapped at 12 Games

Hartford dropped their record down to 12-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's 12-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Oshkosh North Spartans by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Orioles were not able to get on the board.

As for Oshkosh North, they moved to 4-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 4th.

For Oshkosh North's part, not much got past Kara Cummings, who gave up just three hits to keep Hartford off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Niemczyk, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Dory Butzlaff also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Coming up, Hartford will host Nicolet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Orioles are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Oshkosh North, they will head out on the road to square off against Appleton West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
