The Triad Cardinals's game on Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Northeastern 45-16 on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Triad also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Triad got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Lemay out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lemay has scored at least 25% of Triad's points. Another player making a difference was Abbey Overfield, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Northeastern were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triad only pulled down 28.
The victory got Triad back to even at 2-2. As for Northeastern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triad's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fairlawn at 6:00 p.m. on December 4th. As for Northeastern, they will face off against Carlisle at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
