Volleyball Recap: Springfield Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

If Struthers wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Springfield, they should've done a better job of containing Emily Conner. The Tigers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Conner, who had 17 digs and one assist. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

While Springfield might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Struthers scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20.

Struthers' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elliana Benson, who had 17 assists and 12 digs, and Trynyty Nail, who had 19 digs and two assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Melyka West, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Struthers, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Springfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Western Reserve on the 8th. As for Struthers, they will challenge Howland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
