St. Joseph Catholic pushed their score all the way to 39 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They and Presbyterian Christian were almost perfectly matched up, but St. Joseph Catholic suffered an agonizing 40-39 loss. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (34), St. Joseph Catholic still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Hartfield Academy faced Jackson Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hartfield Academy walked away with a 30-17 win over Jackson Prep on Friday.
Hartfield Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reed Jesiolowski led the charge by rushing for 161 yards, while also picking up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jesiolowski is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayman Tapper, who threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes.
Hartfield Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Reginald Vaughn and his three sacks.
Hartfield Academy's victory bumped their season record to 10-0 while St. Joseph Catholic's defeat dropped theirs to 4-4.
