After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pittston, Wyoming Area was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans with a sharp 15-3 win. The Warriors have beaten the Trojans the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.
Alexa Gasek made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Gaylord, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and two RBI. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Allison Layland was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
