Pottstown moved up to 457 from 497 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of besting Upper Perkiomen 28-14.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Pottsgrove beat Phoenixville 52-14. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Falcons.
Spring-Ford's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Leacraft threw for 160 and 2 touchdowns and Gary Hopkins had 74 yards receiving. On the ground Jarred Jones contributed 199 yards. Danny Matthews helped Spring-Ford's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 58 yards.
Jones provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Rams bested Pope John Paul II. Jones' favorite target this week was Hopkins, who caught 3 passes for 74 yards.
Jones was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 199 yards on 12 carries as Spring-Ford topped Pope John Paul II. Jake Leahy also contributed to the rushing game with 63 yards on the ground.
Spring-Ford's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Leacraft has thrown for 625 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Hopkins has 19 catches for 375 yards.
The top two teams in Pioneer will face off this week when first place Pottsgrove takes on second place Perkiomen Valley.
