Last Thursday, Apostolic Christian was beaten by Scott 62-28. While losing is never fun, Apostolic Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Scott is ranked 163rd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jeremy Lindsay, who scored nine points.
Maryville Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Knoxville Christian with a sharp 50-26 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Maryville Christian.
Apostolic Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Maryville Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Apostolic Christian ended up a good deal behind Maryville Christian in their previous matchup back in February, losing 81-62. Can Apostolic Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
