The North Woods grizzlies pushed their score all the way to 67 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 95-67 loss at the hands of Red Lake. North Woods lost against Red Lake in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 105-97 score last time.
Gerald Kingbird jr had a dynamite game for Red Lake, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 37 points and 9 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kingbird jr has scored at least 25% of Red Lake's points. Jack Brown was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with 8 assists and 8 rebounds.
North Woods' defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Red Lake, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
North Woods will be playing at home against Nashwauk-Keewatin at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Red Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against Cass Lake-Bena at 7:15 p.m. on December 15th.
