After flying high against the Ceiba College Preparatory Academy Spartans last Thursday, the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies came back down to earth. Pajaro Valley was the victim of a tough 62-36 defeat at the hands of North Salinas on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pajaro Valley in their matchups with North Salinas: they've now lost four in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Andre Lizaola, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Lizaola, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Pajaro Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for North Salinas, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
Pajaro Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Monte Vista Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Monte Vista Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday. As for North Salinas, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenfield is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
