Piedmont Community Charter proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Queen's Grant Stallions 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won five contests in a row.

Sophie Gibson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chloe Rae Baker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Piedmont Community Charter's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Queen's Grant, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

Piedmont Community Charter wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 25-0 win against Sugar Creek Charter on the 4th. As for Queen's Grant, they have also already played their next game, a 16-1 victory against Monroe on the 4th.
