Huron has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Edison Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything went Huron's way against Clyde as Huron made off with a 28-6 victory.
Huron's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Delaney, who rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. Cody Scroggins was another key contributor, rushing for 38 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Edison got the win against Vermilion on Friday by a conclusive 34-14. Given Edison's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Vermilion is ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Huron's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points per game. Edison has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in eight of their first nine contests, giving them a 8-1 record.
Everything went Huron's way against Edison in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Huron made off with a 35-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huron since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
