Kingston will head out to take on Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kingston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Kingston's last matchup with Sandusky could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. The Cardinals came up short against the Wolves, falling 19-5.
Piper St. George made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Michigan Lutheran Seminary). Everything went their way against Montrose on Tuesday as they made off with a 24-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Ally Coffey was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Ana Graves was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Makayla Roth was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary pushed their record up to 25-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kingston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kingston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Michigan Lutheran Seminary struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
