Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lone Peak proved: they limited Farmington to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. While seven picked up at least two total tackles, Tagg Zundel stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks, made two total tackles, and defended one pass. Lone Peak's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.5.
Lone Peak's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Farmington's QB won't forget Zundel anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Davis made easy work of Bingham on Friday and carried off a 42-21 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Darts just coasted through the last quarter.
Lone Peak better keep an eye on Tradon Bessinger. He was instrumental in Davis' win, throwing for 391 yards and six TDs while completing 73% of his passes. Bessinger is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. A healthy portion of Bessinger's aerial production (122 yards to be exact) went to Jaxton Itaaehau, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Lone Peak's record now sits at 6-4. As for Davis, their record is now 10-1.
Everything came up roses for Lone Peak against Davis in their previous meeting back in November of 2018, as the squad secured a 34-6 victory. In that game, the Knights amassed a halftime lead of 31-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
